Almost one in ten Irish citizens of working age live in another EU member state

New Eurostat figures show that Irish citizens of working age (9%) were more than twice as likely to be living in another EU member state as the EU average (4%) in 2017. Almost 62% of them had a third level education compared to an average of 42.4% among the general population of Ireland. They were also more likely to be in employment. The EU Member States with the smallest shares of mobile nationals were Germany (1.0%) and the UK (1.1%) while Romania had the highest share (19.7%).
