Commission marks International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia

To show the Commission’s support for diversity and for LGBTI equality, the European Commission’s Berlaymont headquarters will be lit up tonight (17 May) in the colours of the rainbow flag, and the Commission’s representations in the Member States (including Ireland) are flying the rainbow flag. First Vice-President Frans Timmermans said: “The European Commission is a proud partner of Pride because we believe in equality for all women and men. It sounds self-evident, but sadly it is still far from reality for millions of members of the LGBTI community. In the EU, much has been achieved over the last twenty years, but so much still needs to be done.”
