DCU partner in EU funded project to treat saline wastewater from the food industry

Dublin City University is a partner in an EU-funded project to treat saline wastewater from the food industry by using a combination of bacteria and algae. The food and drink industry, and in particular the meat processing and canning sectors, produces vast amounts of waste water each year. The 20 partners in the three-year project are using a combination of technologies to develop cost-effective solutions to treating saline waste.
