€300 million Brexit Loan Scheme agreed

A €300 million loan scheme for SMEs affected by Brexit was signed last week in Dublin. The scheme will provide affordable financing to businesses that are either currently impacted by Brexit or will be in the future. It will be open to businesses with up to 499 employees from March 2018, and has the potential to benefit over 5,000 companies. The scheme is supported by the European Investment Bank, the European Commission and the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland. The launch was attended by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Michael Creed, Gerry Kiely, Head of the EC Commission Representation in Ireland, Andrew McDowell, Vice President of the EIB, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys and Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform Paschal Donohoe.
