Event Description

EDIC Donegal and Gaeltacht was one of a number of service providers invited to provide an information stand, at a Progression Day event, organised by DLDC on Friday 27th November 2015, in the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar.
The participants were mostly part of a TÚS – Community Work Placement Initiative which is run by DLDC and the aim of the day is to provide all TÚS participants with information on what opportunities are available after TÚS.
A representative from each stand gave a short talk about their own service and of what each had to offer.
Maura O’Reilly and Lorraine Burke gave a presentation each on EDIC Donegal and Gaeltacht and distributed information on EU youth services, leaflets and general EDIC information. This included pens, rulers and EDIC bags
Speakers throughout the day included Joe McHugh TD, who had personal experience of community work placement, Patsy McGonagle who formed the Finn Valley Athletic Club in 1971, and Helen Kelly who is a motivational speaker with many years experience on the subject.
The EDIC stand was extremely busy for the duration of the day.
Around 400 attended this event.
The library service and EDIC has been invited to take part again next year.
