Event Description

This event was inspired by EU policy of promotion of STEM subjects, which states ‘Statistics that show that people with qualifications in STEM subjects have better chance of employment than those without, and also have good average earnings. inGenious is the European Coordinating Body in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education. It is a joint initiative launched by European Schoolnet and the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT) aiming to reinforce young European’s interest in science education and careers and thus address anticipated future skills gaps within the European Union’.
In this workshop Dr Trish Murphy explored maths, physics and chemistry through experiments and hands on activities with a group of local children. The children were stimulated and entertained while being introduced to the magic of science and hopefully will remember this as they make future subject choices at school. 20 children and 12 adults attended this workshop
