World War 1 was one of the deadliest conflicts in history, paving the way for major political changes, including revolutions in many of the nations involved. Europe Direct Blanchardstown is delighted to host a talk and debate together with Padraig Yeates  looking at how World War 1 began the shaping of the Europe we know today.

Padraig Yeates is a journalist, publicists and trade union activist. He is a distinguished social and labour historian and the author of  “Lockout”, the standard work on the great 1913 Irish Labour dispute. he is also author of the acclaimed “A City in Wartime” and “A City in Turmoil”; the third book in the series, “A City in Revolution”, is due out in 2015.
