NEARfm programme looks at Climate Change

Europe on Air, NEAR90.3fm, Thursdays, 4.30-5.00pm


Europe on Air NEARfm’s live weekly programme examines the impact the EU can have on the lives of the Irish and European identity.

Programme 16 of the series airs at 4.30pm on Thursday 19th June 2014 and will look at climate change.  Special guests will include Elaine Nevin, National Director, ECO-UNESCO, Francis Jacobs, ‎ Head of the European Parliament Information Office in Ireland and Ciara Kirrane, Co-ordinator of the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition.

Heidi Bedell, community activist and presenter of this programme states: “The fifth Assessment Report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has just been released and while we all accept that this is a matter of life and death, the question is what can we do about it?”

The issues to be discussed will include what is climate change and what are its effects in Ireland, Europe and worldwide, EU action and aspirations for climate change and how can we make less impact on the environment and protect the planet for future generations.

Europe Direct Blanchardstown was delighted to be involved in this programme.

Europe on Air was launched by Paschal Donohoe, TD and Minister for European Affairs as part of Craol’s media literacy conference on Saturday March 29th 2014.
