Topic: LGBT Marriage and Family Rights in Ireland and the EU 

Europe on Air Near Fm’s new live weekly program examines the impact the EU can have on the lives of the Irish and European identity. The Europe Direct Centre Blanchardstown were delighted to collaborate with Near 90.3FM on this valuable project.
Part five of the series airs on April 3rd 2014 and will be looking at the rights of LGBT citizens with regard to marriage and family rights as well as transgender rights and how the situation in Ireland compares to other EU nations. It will take place in Thursday 3rd of April 2014 at 4.30-5pm

Special guests include Elaine King, television coordinator, NEAR TV, Deirdre O’Byrne, presenter of Pride Time on Near FM plus Max Krzyzanowski, spokesperson for LGBT Noise. This week’s show will include an insert from our partners in Radio EMA RTV in Seville, Spain.

Discussions will involve the following:

·         LGBT marriage/family rights

·         Transgender rights

·         EU Law + Policy

Europe on Air was launched by Paschal Donohoe, TD and Minister for European Affairs as part of Craol’s media literacy conference on Saturday March 29th2014.
