Event Description

Waterford Europe Direct Information Centre is delighted to host a EURO 2012 competition as a tribute to our Boys in Green who begin their campaign against Croatia on Sunday 10th June. All you have to do is call in to Central Library and guess the time that the first goal will be scored in each of Ireland’s three group matches and you will be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize. The competition is restricted to one entry per person, but the number that you pick will apply to all three of Ireland’s group matches.

The Competition opens on Tuesday 29 May at 10am and the closing date for entries is Saturday 9 June or sooner if all slots are filled.

  • One entry per person per match
  • The same number covers you for Ireland’s three group matches
  • 0 to 59 seconds comprises the first minute i.e “1”
  • If a goal is scored at 24 minutes and 13 seconds then “25” wins the prize as it is the 25th minute
  • 45+ and 90+ are the injury time periods at the end of each half. 45 is the period from 44.00 to 44.59. 45+ covers the TOTAL amount of injury time played at the end of the first half. 90+ covers the TOTAL amount of injury time played at the end of the second half
  • If the game ends in a scoreless draw the winner is the person who nominated the score “0-0”.
  • All times for goals scored will be the times given on the official EUFA website www.eufa.com. In the event of a dispute over times the decision of the adjudicator (library staff member) will be final.

Good luck and COME ON IRELAND……!!!!!
