EU Membership – the benefits to my county

Europe Direct Poster Competition Application Form

Mountmellick Europe Direct are delighted to announce the launch of our EU Poster Competition for 2015. Students will be asked to use their creativity and research skills in order to design a poster to develop some innovative and thoughtful designs with the theme ‘EU Membership – the benefits to my county.’ Employing the theme, poster designs should look at Ireland’s place in the EU and importance of the European Union in our lives and in particular in our county. Entrants will be judged on their creativity, originality of illustration, ability to engage others, clarity of message while utilizing their primary resources and personal viewpoints combined with visual and wording to produce effective posters.

Entrants should be of secondary school age from Laois, Offaly or Tipperary. Posters can be designed using any art materials; markers, pencils, paints, charcoal, pastels, ink, collage etc. Prints done from lino, wood block or other methods may also be submitted. Photography and computer graphics can also be used. Entries must either include an entry form to include name, age, title of work, school or youth group, location and contact information or to include said information on the back of entry. A signature from a parent, guardian or teacher should also be included. Entries to be submitted by Friday 11th December.
