Irish on Olympics Day 5 – Times to look out for

Sailing: Annalise Murphy continued her perfect London 2012 record by winning races 3 and 4 in the Women’s Laser Radial yesterday – she now has four consecutive victories in the event.

She goes into the day with the best possible score of four points from four races – her nearest rival is Evi Van Acker of Belgium – 12 points off the pace on 16 points.

Race 5 begins at 1200, with Race 6 scheduled to start at 1330.

Sailing: James Espey finished 39th and 36th in his two races in the Men’s Laser yesterday.

He stands 40th overall going into Race 5 at 1210 – Race 6 will start at 1440.

Sailing: Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern finish 12th in 49er race 5. 1:34 seconds off the winners Emmanuel Dyen and Stephane Christidis.

Race 6 has a start time of 1250.

Cycling: David McCann is back in the saddle on Olympics Day 5 – he finished 55th in the Men’s Road Race on Sunday.

He takes part in the Time Trial today – McCann is due to start around 1425.

Canoe Slalom: Eoin Rheinisch, ranked 57th in the world, put in a solid performance on Sunday to book himself a place in today’s semi-final of the Canoe Slalom.

There will be 15 competitors in the semi-final, Rheinisch is down to go fourth in the order – with a start time of 1339.

Boxing: John Joe Nevin returns to the ring this afternoon after comprehensively defeating Denmark’s Denis Ceylan in his first round bout on Saturday.

He goes up against Kanat Abutalipov from Kazakhstan at 1400.
