Event Description

Caroline Curneen, PRecc-net & Marketing Manager of the European Consumer Centre, Ireland will give a presentation on EU Consumer Rights at the Patrician Academy, Mallow as part of Mallow EDIC activities during this European Year of Citizens.

The goal of European Consumer Policy is to demonstrate to all EU citizens that they can shop from anywhere in the EU, from corner-shop to website, confident they are equally effectively protected, whether from dangerous products or rogue traders. This benefits not just consumers but also retailers, and especially small and medium enterprises, as they can sell anywhere on the basis of a single, simple set of rules. The European Consumer Centre Network offers consumers across Europe advice on their rights when shopping in another European state. The ECC Network also offers a dispute resolution service. If necessary, ECC Ireland can liaise directly with a trader via its sister centre in the country of purchase.
