Event Description

Award winning author, Ger Whelan retells his experiences of writing The Guns of Easter, a book which vividly describes the reality of family life through the eyes of young Jimmy Conway. In 1916 the people of Ireland stood divided; torn between propaganda against the Germans in the Great War and on the other side, the King. Gerard gives a wonderful sense of the people involved on both sides of this uprising, and presents the humanity of soldiers and loyalists, while placing this conflict in its European context.
127 young people attended this show.
