Event Description

Holocaust Education Trust Ireland in association with the Galicia Jewish Museum, Krakow have brought to Ireland the exhibition:

Traces of Memory: A contemporary look at the Jewish past in Poland

Opening hours:  Tuesday, 11am-8pm

Wednesday – Saturday 11am-5pm

This exhibition features photographs by the late British photojournalist Chris Schwarz and research and texts by Prof. Jonathan Webber (UNESCO Chair of Jewish and Interfaith Studies, University of Birmingham, UK). Over a period of twelve years, they worked together to gather material that offers a completely new way of looking at the Jewish past that was destroyed in Poland. The exhibition pieces together a picture of the relics of Jewish life and culture in Polish Galicia that can still be seen today, interpreting these traces in a manner which is informative, accessible, and thought-provoking.

HETI are offering guided tours of the exhibition for school groups. Please contact the HETI office at 01 6690593 or at info@hetireland.org for more information.
