WIN €500 to make your home more energy efficient

Two lucky Waterford homeowners will each win €500 to spend on making their homes more energy efficient in an exciting competition run by the Waterford City and County Council Environment Department, The Waterford Energy Bureau and The Waterford Europe Direct Information Centre.

The competition was launched this week by the Mayor of Waterford Lola O’Sullivan, The Mayor explained that the competition was open to all home owners in Waterford City and County adding that: “it is the perfect opportunity to reduce your energy use, costs and greenhouse gas emissions as well as improving the comfort levels within your home”.

Entrants just need to answer a simple question: Name three ways of making your home more energy efficient to be in with a chance of winning the prize. You can enter online and will find more information on energy efficiency at www.waterfordenergy.ie or in pick up an entry form in the Europe Direct Information Centre at Central Library in Lady Lane. Closing date for entries is 30th September at 5:30pm.

The prize money can be used with the SEAI Better Energy Homes Grant Scheme grants which include funding for any two of the following attic insulation, cavity wall insulation, internal dry lining, external wall insulation, heating system boiler upgrade, heating system controls upgrade and solar water heating.
