The Waterford Europe Direct Information Centre located at the Central Library, Lady Lane will host an Information Fair for people affected by unemployment. This event is being run in collaboration with the Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, St Brigid’s Family & Community Centre, St Paul’s Community Project and is supported by Waterford Area Partnership.

The Information Fair will be held on Thursday 21st November from 10.30am to 12.30pm

There will be a wide range of information stands covering topics such as Rights & Entitlements, Housing, Training, Volunteering and other supports. Staff will be available at each stand who can talk to you about the supports their organisation provides.

As part of a three strong delegation to Waterford City, Harald Seibel, the First Secretary of Press, Cultural and Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, will launch the Information Fair at 12 noon. Ireland and Germany have a tradition of very close relations. In 1990, during its European Council Presidency,Irelandplayed a crucial role in integrating the unitedGermanyinto the European Communities. The German Embassy in Ireland is committed to building bridges between the two countries. Today, both countries are jointly engaged at the heart of European affairs as well as in the United Nations.

During the morning of the Information Fair, Breda Gardner will facilitate two workshops on Positive Well-being and Coping with Everyday Stress.

There will also be the opportunity to sign up for a further series of workshops that will take place during November, December and January of next year. Themes for these workshops will include: Living with Unemployment, Entrepreneurships and Rights & Entitlements.
