Event Description

Gerry Hunt, author and illustrator of Blood Upon the Rose, 1913 Larkin’s

Labour War and At War with the Empire, talks about the evolution of the

graphic novel – from American childrens’ comics to something that

tackles more serious adult issues. He will discuss his interest in the

history of 1916, his work with The O’Brien Press and the process of

writing Blood Upon the Rose. Throughout the talk Gerry will also give

drawing demonstrations and will also be happy to answer questions in a

post talk Q+A session.
