Ireland in 6th place for women in STEM

New Eurostat figures show that approximately 49% of Ireland’s 191,000 scientists and engineers are women, the 6th highest share in the EU where the average is 40%. The countries with the highest shares of female scientists and engineers are: Lithuania (58%), Bulgaria (54%) and Latvia (52%). Meanwhile, Luxembourg (25%), Finland (28%), Hungary (31%), Austria (32%) and Germany (33%) had the lowest shares.
