Launch of Irish programme for European Year of Cultural Heritage

2018 is the European Year of Cultural Heritage, a year of events, activities and celebrations all around Europe to get people interested and involved in cultural heritage. Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan, TD launched Ireland’s programme for the Year in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin on 29 January. The event included remarks by Michael Parsons, Chairman of the Heritage Council and interventions by Daragh Rice and Cian Kavanagh, Transition Year Students, Matt Farrell, Heritage Hero 2016, Angie Kinsella, Heritage in Schools Expert, and Beatrice Kelly, the National Coordinator for the year. The event closed with Fionnan MacGabhann on Uillean Pipes.
